Memphis

memphisSpending only 1 night in Memphis was something we have said we should have not done, meaning stay longer. But be that as it may, the sun rose that Sunday morning as we made our way a few miles up the road to the most memorable time on our trip. We went to New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Amazing is all I have to say. The passion, the singing, and the message were so good. As church goers ourselves, we said to each other as we were walking to our car, we had never been hugged so much by such wonderful strangers. Never have been to an African-American church before we were in wonderment of their warmth and love for a visitor.

After parting ways with new found enthusiasm and joy, we met our old friend the hwy and he pointed us in the direction of Nashville. The gently rolling hills of Tennessee unwrapped more and more of the autumn colors as we traveled closer to our next adventure.
